What Is Coaching?
Coaching is about dealing with real people, in their time to their agenda, working on what they want to achieve. It’s something that I love because it’s new every time. I am always impressed by my clients focus and determination. A coaching session is my clients time to work towards their goals, they set the agenda. The difference with working with me rather than a friend or a family member is that I’m completely objective, I don’t have opinions, reservations, or pre-conceived beliefs about my clients. A coaching session is a time for clients to focus on what they want.
What is Life Coaching? You take time to look at your life. You find out exactly what is not working in your life and why it isn’t working. You can identify exactly what you want from life. You can set yourself achievable goals or outcomes and take charge of your destiny. You will discover your hidden beliefs and remove any beliefs that have a self limiting effect on you. You will learn to be positive, to focus on what you really want. And the best part of all this, you do it using the power within yourself. What is Business Coaching?
A well run business will have a business plan, a marketing plan, some targets and a focused team of people. Regardless of the number of people working in the business, from one to one hundred (or more), sometimes it’s hard to maintain that focus and to keep working towards your business goals. A business coach will help you to work towards your goals in a focused manner. Business coaching sessions should be held every month and the aim of the session is for you to have an action plan of what you will be doing to achieve those goals until the next session.
What is Executive Coaching?
Executives have busy lives, are generally ambitious and seek promotion, have to be great communicators and importantly, they have corporate goals to reach. They can want to change jobs, but can feel stuck, they maybe want help in becoming better communicators. They are busy and it’s here that stress regularly sets in and they feel unbalanced in their lives, sometimes this is reflected in their health. Executive coaching helps them to reduce stress, get more balance, focus and clarity, improve job confidence and prospects, achieve personal and corporate goals.
What other services can be used in coaching sessions?
Time Line Therapy™
The techniques are a process of active imagination where the client imagines floating above his Time Line and letting go of his negative emotions and or limiting decisions (or limiting beliefs). Then the client is also asked to imagine creating events in his future that support his goals or outcomes. Time Line Therapy ™ techniques have demonstrated results in a broad variety of presenting problems. It is a powerful technique which allows clients to make long lasting changes in a very rapid way.
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
NLP is a model of communication – how we communicate to self and others – and how that communication creates and affects our behaviour. As a study, it is a synthesis of cognitive and behavioural philosophies which focus on the information coming through the neurology (cognitive) and the programs that we run inside our heads to produce the behaviours we do. Sue Bown is a is certified as a Master Practitioner of NLP.
Hypnosis (this will only be used with prior agreement of the client)
This is a technique that will speed the process of personal change. Hypnosis uses the trance state to create desired changes in behaviour and encourages mental and physical well-being. It is a method that utilises your unconscious mind to promote change and to heal what needs to be healed. It can be used for personal change such as stopping smoking, weight management, stress management and other negative states. During hypnosis the client is fully in control, will feel relaxed and able to accept new learnings to change future behaviour. Sue Bown is certified as a Master Practitioner of Hypnosis.
